CIMS is expanding its operation by merging with Chemfab Industries Inc., a leading industrial contractor based in Sarnia, Ontario. Chemfab provides unionized trades to oil refineries, chemical processing plants and other industrial facilities in Southern Ontario.

Joseph Maloney, International Vice-President of Boilermakers (Canada), said "CIMS is a good union contractor; the merger with Chemfab of Sarnia will build a stronger presence for Boilermakers and CIMS in Sarnia plus throughout Ontario." He further added "We are looking forward to working with CIMS and continuing our strong relationship."
