Support the Troops

The International Brotherhood of Boilermakers supports the efforts of the Canadian Troops who are or have serviced our country with the Canadian Armed Forces. To show that we do support them, within the month each member will receive a yellow ribbon magnet for their vehicle from their Local Lodge. On the Ribbon it will state "Boilermakers - Support Our Troops" with a Canadian Flag. We ask that you proudly display the ribbon and support the efforts of these Canadians.

Joe Maloney, IVP of Western Canada, says "the Boilermakers do not support war, but we do support the Canadian Troops who are in the middle of a battle field, keeping the peace in other parts of the world or in a search and rescue mission here at home." He further added "These people are willing to make a sacrifice so we can continue on living our lives in the freedom we enjoy; we need to display our respect for their work and this ribbon is a small token of that respect."

Ed Power, IVP of Eastern Canada, noted "We have members of this union who have served in the Army, Air force, Navy or Coast Guard for Canada and this ribbon is a way we can display our admiration for their duty." He finished off, "We ask that each member who does receive the ribbon to put it on view to the general public to show that Boilermakers do support the troops."
